Privacy Policy: Balloon Bouquet Maker
Effective date: October 5, 2026
Balloon Bouquet Maker ("the app") is provided by DIY Balloon Studio ("we", "us"), 7652 Brandywine Road, Charleston, SC 29420, USA. Contact: diyballoonstudio@gmail.com.
This policy explains what information the app uses when a merchant installs it on a Shopify store, and when that store's customers use the bouquet builder.
1. Information we access from the merchant's store
When a merchant installs the app, we access, through Shopify:
- The store's domain and basic shop details (for example its currency and plan type).
- Product and collection information the merchant chooses to use: titles, descriptions, tags, prices, images, variants, and inventory levels.
- The store's Files, only to save and later delete the bouquet pictures the app itself creates.
- Information about the app's own subscription (whether a plan is active, and its trial status).
We do not access customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, or order history.
2. Information we store
- Access sessions: a technical record that lets the app talk to the store through Shopify (store domain and access token). We delete it when the app is uninstalled.
- App settings: the merchant's choices (fonts, colors, button text, chosen products and collections). These are kept in a private setting on the merchant's own Shopify store, not copied elsewhere.
- Bouquet pictures: when a customer adds a bouquet to the cart, the app saves a picture of the bouquet they designed as a file in the merchant's own Shopify store (Content, Files) so the merchant can arrange the bouquet like it. The picture shows balloons only, with no personal information. The app deletes these files after 90 days.
- Feedback messages: if a merchant sends feedback from the app, we receive the message, the store's domain, and any email address the merchant chooses to give so we can reply.
3. Information from a store's customers
The bouquet builder runs on the merchant's storefront. To load the merchant's balloon list, it makes a request to our service through Shopify. That request carries no customer name or contact details. The app does not set cookies and does not track or profile customers. Like any web service, our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and time) for security and reliability, for a limited time.
When a customer taps Add to cart, the chosen balloons are added to the store's cart through Shopify's own cart. Cart, checkout and order information belongs to the merchant and Shopify.
If the merchant selects a Google font for the builder, the customer's browser loads that font from Google Fonts, which receives the browser's IP address under Google's own privacy policy.
4. How we use information
To run the app (show balloons, prices and stock), check the subscription status, keep the app secure, provide support, and answer feedback. We do not sell personal information.
5. Who we share information with
- Shopify, which provides the platform and billing.
- Our hosting providers: Fly.io, Inc. runs the app's server, and Neon, Inc. hosts the small database that holds the access sessions described above. Both are in the United States.
- Feedback: when a merchant uses "Send us feedback" in the app, it opens the merchant's own email program with a message addressed to us. We do not use a separate email delivery service for this. If we add one, we will name it here. We may also disclose information if required by law.
6. Retention and deletion
When a store uninstalls the app, we delete its access sessions. Shopify also sends us data-erasure requests (for the store and its customers), which we honor. Feedback emails are kept as long as needed to respond and improve the app, then deleted.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your information. Because we hold no customer personal data, most requests concern the merchant's own contact details. Email diyballoonstudio@gmail.com and we will respond within the time required by law.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections and limit access to stored data. No online service can be perfectly secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.
9. Children
The app is a business tool for merchants and is not directed at children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above, and tell merchants about significant changes.
